Impromptu caching on Saturday and it was fun – except for the part where I some how have hurt my back. I swear, I had a birthday last week and now i’m offically old and decrepit. ANYHOW…one of the ninjas came along as did one of the young queens and Sasha – who shall now and forever be known as the beastie from hell – more on that later.
We (St of Jajast, The King of 4 queens and a king, and myself) headed out toward Lake Massabesic, grabbing a couple of caches on our way. Okay one of them is one I’d searched for 3 other times…For some strange reason, my GPS brought me over to the WRONG side of the trail each and every time. I’m all for expanding my search, but not to the other side of the trail, lol. Anyhow, cache was found and off we went.
It was a nice albeit buggy day, and we had fun – ST and the King went after a couple of caches I already had so I kept my Ninja daughter and the young Queen and Sasha the hell beasie with me while they went after the caches. Unfortunately at one point on the trail, we met a nice person walking on the trail with his own hell beasties. After a lot of barking, snarling and baring of teeth, we got Sasha away and continued on down the trail. Abbie the Ninja and Queen C. decided to walk down to the lake whilst I hung out with Sasha. Well the hell beastie didn’t like the girls going the 30 feet down the trail without her, and she went ballistic and knocked the Ninja’s mom on her @$$. Yes, that’s right, I landed right on my tushie. Normally, I would have laughed hysterically, but since my back was already broken, I was not pleased. However, now Ms. Sasha and I understand each other and she will NOT be doing that again.
A few more caches and we decided to tackle the Auburn Stairs. I crapped out almos to GZ and had to stop – my sweet Ninja girl hung with me, while Queen C tackled the trip with her dad the King and ST. Shortly, Queen C decided to bring Sasha with her and come back and sit with us. Sasha the hell beastie felt that Queen C wasn’t going fast enough and felt that she needed to pull the poor mite down the trail. After ensuring that Queen C wasn’t injured except for her dignity, I proceeded to have another chat with Sasha the hell beastie, and I think we understand each other now.
Back down the trail, we bumped into hydragyrum and mrs. hydragyrum. While they all chatted, Ninja Abbie, Queen C and I retired lakeside so that Ninja Abbie could take some pictures. I’ll post some as soon as we get them developed. One final cache and it was time to head home to rest the ouchie back and cook dinner for the hungry Ninja and her Ninja brother who stayed home to practice his playstation skills.
